Location
Guest Ratings & Reviews
My stay at the hotel had its highs and lows. The location was ideal, with easy access to trains, buses, and shopping, but the noise from other guests in the rooms was quite disruptive. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the dining options had some good aspects but lacked variety for vegetarians and vegans.
The hotel was cozy and clean, but the area was noisy and a tad small for a double room. The lower ground floor location made it inconvenient with only one working elevator, causing some frustration during my stay.
The hotel is nestled at the far end of a quiet corridor, ensuring a peaceful stay away from nightly traffic interruptions. The room was spacious enough for a family of four, impeccably clean, and breakfast exceeded expectations with a wide variety of choices. The staff went above and beyond to assist despite our early arrival.
The hotel is extremely close to the town center, making it perfect for accessing shopping areas easily. The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable with high-quality pillows and duvets, though the sofa bed could be more comfortable. The service was helpful and friendly, but a bit unwelcoming in some instances. The location is excellent, central to everything with easy access to trains and buses. The dining experience could improve with more vegan and vegetarian options and better handling during busy times. Overall, a convenient hotel with a great central location.
I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms; despite expecting a shoebox, they were actually fine. However, I struggled with the outside noise and had to limit my use of the air conditioning due to the disturbance. The reception also had a smoky smell from smokers lingering nearby. On the positive side, the service was welcoming and up to a decent standard, with helpful tips on parking. The location was central but didn't offer much charm in Stevenage town. The adjacent mirror and socket in the room were convenient. The dining experience was good overall, with plentiful options suitable for those on the go. The layout of the reception and dining area was a bit bleak, but the proximity to the train station was convenient.
I found the rooms to be clean and spacious at this hotel. However, there were no drawers to put clothes away, and the temperature was a bit cold and couldn't be adjusted. The self-service breakfast lacked variety, especially on Saturday night.
My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms were large, clean, and peaceful, but a bit chilly when coming back in. The bed was comfy, plus I had a hairdryer, iron, and ironing board in the room. The staff was amazing, especially during my self-isolation period, delivering breakfast at my door. The location was super convenient for accessing the town and train station, with shops and restaurants nearby. The dining was good but could use more English breakfast options. Despite a few minor issues, it was a great stay overall.
My stay at the Holiday Inn Express was pleasant overall. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, although they smelt a bit stale. The service was professional, but there was room for improvement in terms of engagement. The location was central and convenient for my needs, being right next to the train station. The facilities provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
